FPL GW 18 Wildcard Team

Optimal FPL GW 18 Wildcard Team

Goalkeepers

The number one for our GW 18 Wildcard Team will be Raya (5.6). He's Arsenal's main main, they have been the best team defensively, and their long-term fixtures are solid (check it out for yourself in our Fixture Ticker)!

Our backup is Valdimarsson - we are a bit strapped for cash.

Defenders

Expect big things of this back 4 - Timber (5.7) is the cheapest nailed Arsenal defender, Gabriel (6.2) has insane aerial threat. Arsenal has been the best defense in terms of xG conceded, so with Saka's injury tripling up on it is a good idea.

Alexander-Arnold (7.0) is the luxury pick here - if you're short on funds or a bit more risk averse Van Dijk (6.5) is also an excellent pick here. I think he's worth the premium for his supreme attacking threat (0.34 xGi is crazy for a defender!).

Munoz (4.7) completes our first-choice defense. He's been getting into seriously dangerous positions and Crystal Palace have an excellent run of fixtures, and their defensive form has improved substantially.

Our 5th man is Huijsen (4.3) of Bournemouth. Their first-choice CB is out for months, so he'll be playing 90 minutes for a decent defense for the forseeable future.

Midfielders

Salah (13.4) and Palmer (11.2) should be the core of any serious FPL team at the moment. Elite players, nailed, playing for elite teams, on penalties!

Luis Diaz (7.4) is the Saka replacement. Coming off a brace against Tottenham he'll do plenty of damage in the coming weeks, even if he'll start some matches on the bench. I. Sarr (5.7) is maybe a bit more out there as a pick, but he provides terrific value at 5.7m. Good attacking threat, great fixtures!

Enzo (5.1) has been in fine form as of late, with great upcoming fixtures I expect for him to keep bringing the points.

Forwards

Our front two are Wood (6.6) and Isak (9.0). Wood is having an excellent season, and Isak is as essential as Salah Palmer and Saka in my opinion. With Wilsons injury Isak is now nailed, probably on penalties and has been getting on the scoring sheet consistently.

Conclusion

I really love the look of this squad, sadly I don't still have my wildcard!
