FPL GW 20 Wildcard Team
Published: January 1, 2025Goalkeepers
The number one for our Gameweek 20 Wildcard Team is Pickford (4.9).
Everton have been much improved defensively (Sean Dyche finally doing Sean Dyche things!!)
and their long term fixtures are very good from a defensive standpoint.
Check out the current state of fixtures using our Fixture Ticker - the teams difficulties are updated every day and give you a much clearer picture of the teams offensive and defensive strength than the official FDR (choose xG based FDR to enable!).
Our back-up is Valdimarsson (3.9) - still waiting on news on his injury but he might be a playing sub 4.0 keeper!
Defenders
We are doubling up on Fulham this week! They have the best defensive fixture run and are playing an INCREDIBLE season.
Robinson (4.9), despite his recent price rises, is still a stellar pick. He is nailed and has excellent attacking threat.
Andersen (4.2) is criminally underpriced, and will no doubt far outperform his ridiculous pricetag!
Alexander-Arnold (7.1) should not be missing from your squad either. His attacking numbers are unmatched by other defenders and
Liverpool is an elite defense with good fixtures going forward. If you are short on funds I would not mind choosing Van Dijk instead -
he is lacking the offensive output but should still perform well as he is playing 90 every game.
Gabriel (6.3) will stay despite a couple of tougher fixtures coming up. Arsenal have been incredibly strong defensively, even playing good teams. He also loves scoring a good header!
Harwood-Bellis (4.1) is our elected benchwarmer. He is nailed and has some attacking threat.
Midfielders
I'm sure there's no need for me to tell you this, but Palmer (11.3) and Salah (13.5) absolutely 100% MUST be in your team by now!
They are their teams respective main attackers with penalties included.
Coming in for the injured Saka is Odegaard (8.4). There's a chance of penalties now for him, and he won't stop being involved in Arsenals attacking efforts
in Sakas absence. If you're feeling spicy or are a little low on funds I wouldn't mind going for Martinelli (6.9) here either.
I. Sarr (5.8) finds himself on the bench this week, but I'd happily play him in most of Palace future fixtures. He's been putting out incredible performances with no signs of slowing down.
Dibling (4.5) is our backup. He's got the potential for goals and is playing 90 minutes most games - still not someone I'd consider starting, but it's good to have him just in case.
Forwards
And now for our front-three!
Isak (9.1) has been CRUSHING it. With Wilson out he is just as important as Salah and Palmer. Getting returns with the stats to back them up, a supreme Fantasy asset.
We still have faith in N.Jackson (8.1). I would not read too much into his recent blanks. He's still a good pick with Wolverhampton and Bournemouth at home in the next three -
and the Crystal Palace match being a derby has a lot of potential for goals too!
Raúl (5.5) completes the Fulham triple-up. While he might start some games on the bench, he is their main number 9 with penalties with superb fixtures coming up.
Conclusion
And that's it for this week!
